Here are some recommended books and articles on Art Therapy. Please note that some of the books listed are meant as historical references to show the roots of art therapy as a profession. Thus you are advised to read each book with a critical eye. Art Therapy has come out of two main schools of thought, (psychoanalysis and art education) and has since branched out. Just as there are many forms of strictly verbal psychotherapies, so too are there many theoretical orientations in Art Therapy.
